New Year, New Normal

*Woops, perhaps the title should be, "Better Late than Never!"  Haha!

Lately I have been thinking of what I want for my normal to look like.  What an appropriate time of the year to regroup and change strategies based on my assessment.  (Just had a teacher moment there)

I admit that I fluctuate with motivation and routine.  I get very easily overwhelmed because I don't think about the baby steps in a process.  I want end results earlier than I've earned them.  Can anyone relate?

So here are just a few of my goals and how I feel that they can fit into my new normal:

Half Marathon (this one's easy in comparison because it comes with an actual plan!):

February 10th, St. Petersburg FL.  I'm already paid and registered.  Lucky for me, many of my baby steps have already been in process for some time now.  So just keep training and in just days over a month from now, I will be running my first ever solo half marathon with my closest 10,000 fellow running mates.

Balance:

Or perhaps this could be better called "an appreciation of the day to day".  This blog really has been helping me to pause and think about those "little" things and have an attitude of appreciation and contentment.  Per yesterday's post :)

This looks like focusing on my guys while they're awake.  Organizing for the next day the night before to alleviate morning stress.  Looking around while I run rather than focus on the fact that I'm running.  Taking it all in.

Blog:

I personally enjoy writing this blog because it helps me to focus on the positives.  The comments and encouragement that I have received from people so far makes it even better.  I mean who doesn't like to get compliments?

Spending the last two months or so that the blog has been in existence writing my thoughts has challenged me, changed my outlook on things, and made me happy.  Therefore, I'm going to keep it up!  We'll see where this road takes us.

Who's with me?  Any good goals out there?  Please tell me about them!

Also, what do you all think of me starting a Facebook page for this blog?  That way I could post that I've posted on that page so you know.  Good idea or bad one?
